Appearance Release

Whether you're recording client demo coaching sessions or podcast interviews, it's important to get an Appearance Release. 

When it comes to copyright of a recording, generally the photographer or videographer has the rights to the recording. But when your recording includes an interview, client coaching session, or Q&A livestream, guests who appear may still have the right to control their name and likeness for future uses of media that features them.  

The Appearance Release sets out your ownership of the recording and the rights to use it in multiple countries and formats. It also covers situations when your guest talks about their proprietary methods or secret sauce, so you're in a better spot if they try and make a copyright claim against you at a future date.
